Welcome to Fern & Feta Platters – a catering business born from a love of food, beautiful presentation, and creating unforgettable moments.

The idea for Fern & Feta began in 2019 while I was planning my own wedding. I struggled to find a local grazing table catering company in Canterbury that offered the style, quality, and wow-factor I was looking for. That gap in the market sparked a passion – and with a little creativity (and a lot of cheese), Fern & Feta was born.

On New Year’s Eve 2019, a close friend and I created our first platter for a gathering – and the response was incredible. Encouraged by the feedback, we launched our Facebook page that very night and were blown away by the support, gaining over 50 likes in just a few hours. That was the moment I knew we had something special.

From Hobby to Full-Time Passion

Not long after, my friend moved on to pursue other goals – and I made the leap to turn Fern & Feta Platters into a full-time business. Since then, I’ve proudly designed and delivered over 2,500 custom platters and grazing tables, building a reputation as one of Canterbury’s busiest and most trusted catering companies.

We’ve catered everything from:

• Corporate events & staff functions

• Birthday parties & baby showers

• Intimate picnics & luxury platter gifts

Each platter is handcrafted with care, using the freshest ingredients sourced locally across Canterbury. Our goal is always the same – to create delicious, visually stunning catering that brings people together.

Expanding Our Menu – More Than Just Platters

As our customer base grew, so did our menu.

• In 2024, we introduced our popular Finger Food & Canapé Catering, perfect for cocktail-style events, casual dinners, and grazing-style service with a little extra substance.

• In 2025, we launched full Event Catering packages, offering two flexible options:

  • Drop & Go Catering – Perfect for quick and easy service.

  • Serviced Events – Styling, staff, set-up, and clean-up included.

Our expanded offerings mean we now cater everything from grazing brunches to full evening meals, all delivered with the same quality, care, and creativity we’re known for.
